
Bylaws
Part 1
General & Affiliate Member Admittance
1.1
General Membership in the University of Southern Indiana
College Republicans [USICR] shall be available to any University of Southern
Indiana [USI] student, member of the faculty (staff and administration), and
his/her spouse.
1.1.1
The CRNC (College Republican National Committee) Membership
Form must be adequately filed for General Members to be official.
1.1.2
General Members are able to vote on issues at meetings.
1.1.3
There are no dues for General Members.
1.2
Affiliate Membership in USICR shall be available to those
who cannot be General Members.
1.2.1
USICR Form AM1 must be adequately filed for Affiliate
Members to be official.
1.2.2
Affiliate Members cannot vote.
1.2.3
Annual dues are $10 for Affiliate Members.
Part 2
Member & Officer Removal
2.1
An officer of the Executive Board may file for removal of
another Executive Board Officer at which time:
2.1.1
A unanimous vote of the officers not being considered for
removal is required to remove an Executive Board Officer from the Executive
Board.
2.2
All officers shall be removed for any of the following:
2.2.1
Failure to perform assigned duties in good faith.
2.2.2
Intentionally hindering the integrity or name of USICR.
2.2.3
Conduct that does not befit the office or is disrespectful
to the assigned or elected leadership.
2.3
Severe absence, or lack of physical representation needed to
fulfill duties, shall result in removal, upon direction of the EC.
2.4 Members are subject to Parts 2 and 3 of Segment 2.2
above.
2.5 Any non-member disturbing the normal course of
business at any called meeting can be asked to leave by any of the Senior
Officers and will be removed by the Sergeant at Arms.
2.6 The Executive Chairman may remove Department
Chairmen or Coordinators for the reasons listed above in Parts 1-3.
Part 3
Meetings
3.1 General Meetings shall take place during the regular
school semester at the University of Southern Indiana on Thursdays at 9:00 PM
in room 206 of the University Center [UC].
3.1.1
These meetings are
open to the public.
Part 4
Finances
4.1
USICR Officers can make purchases to complete their duties.
4.1.1
Prior authorization by the Executive Chairman is required to
assure reimbursement.
4.2
A majority of the Executive Board must agree to spend in
excess of $300 from the treasury.
Part 4
Elections
5.1
Any General Member of the organization shall be eligible for
nomination or appointment to available positions.
5.2
Any General Member of the organization shall be eligible for
nomination or appointment to available positions.
5.3
USICR Elections will take place on the day of the regularly
scheduled USICR meeting during the 2nd Week of November, the week
following the U.S. General Election.
5.3.1
Nominations for a USICR position may be made once the
announcement that an election is to be held at a certain date.
5.3.2
On the day of election, each candidate for an office can
give up to a 1-minute speech to those present at the meeting.
5.3.2.1
Endorsements will not be accepted by anyone present at the
meeting.
5.3.2.2
Negative comments are not welcome during the entire election
process.
5.3.3
The order that the candidates speak as well as the order in
which they are listed on the ballot shall be alphabetical.
5.3.4
The EC and Secretary shall hand out the ballots to those who
are confirmed members per the Official Member Voting List.
5.3.5
Candidates shall be elected by a plurality of votes cast by
General Members present on the day of election, unless a different process is
set forth before the entire process starts.
5.3.6
If any irregularities exist in the number of votes or
eligibility of voters, the election shall be null and void, calling upon a new
election as soon as possible.
5.4
If a vacancy occurs in the Executive Board, the EC shall
decide the date for the election within 30 days, Sundays excepted.
5.5
If an appointed position has multiple admirable applicants,
the EC can ask for an election for that position.
Part 5
Amendments to the Bylaws
6.1 Amendments to the Bylaws, which can be proposed by a Senior Officer or Auxiliary Officer, will require a simple majority vote of the Executive Board to adopt the Amendment.
6.2 Any such Amendments shall be given to the Parliamentarian to put before the Executive Board.
