Hold Tax Day Tea Party at USI Protesting the Federal Reserve and
the IRS
They
are appealing to the Wisdom of the Founding Fathers in Doing So
Wednesday,
April 15, 2009
The USI College Republicans join with thousands
of patriotic, conservative liberty-loving Americans throughout hundreds
of cities in the United States in holding a "Tax Day End the
FED/IRS Tea Party" on the campus of the University of Southern
Indiana today, April 15, 2009.
Among the activities that had been planned, a video of conservative
member of the
European Parliament Daniel
Hannon; flyers featuring information on the importance of repealing
the 16th Amendment (Income Taxes), the Federal Reserve System, and
the Internal Revenue System; and the symbolic dumping of toxic treasury
bills were all meant to highlight a system that has figuratively
trampled on the graves of our Founding Fathers. Sam Adams and the
other Sons of Liberty on a likely cold evening at Boston Harbor
on December 16, 1773, continued a revolution against bailouts of
the East India Company, taxation without representation, and questioning
the amount of legitimate taxation in and of itself. Of course, that
revolution led to our status as an independent people and nation.
Today, more and more are dependent on government, which runs counter
to the intent of our nation. As a result, people are working harder
and the government is taking even more -- they are truly being trampled
on. Then, they are finding out that the government is bailing everyone
else out, in the form of corporate welfare, and they are saying
"enough is enough".
Many were impressed about the Tax Day Tea Party at USI and said
so, even including those of other or no party affiliation in support
of activities that reach back to the wholesome foundation of our
nation. The USI College Republicans also announced that they would
be asking professors who continually dominate their classroom with
Keynesian 'economics' to quit contributing to the problem. They
should now consider the empirical evidence (Dot Com bubble, Housing
buble, Dow bubble, etc.) that dwarfs the likelihood that Keynes
and his theories were even close to accurate. Let alone, the great
centralization of the Federal Reserve does not even remotely respect
the Constitution
and foundational principles
of our nation.

Indiana
State Treasurer Richard Mourdock to visit USI and the College Republicans
Come join the discussion of bailouts, inflation,
rampant socialism in Washington, and much more with Indiana State
Treasurer Richard Mourdock.
The event will take place in the Rice Library, Room 0017 at 9PM
on Thursday, April 2, 2009.
Richard Mourdock was one of two state treasurers on record to our
knowledge to protest the bailout bills going through Congress. As
taxpayers federally and statewide, and representing us as the chief
accounting officer of the State of Indiana, we are very grateful
that Mr. Mourdock was willing to state his disagreement with TARP
and other socialistic bailouts that the federal government continues
to this day to pass.
The RIGHT Kind of "Change - We Can Believe In" at the
USI College Republicans
The Members Elect Conservative Leaders
to the Executive Board
Friday, November 14, 2008
In
an exciting excercise echoing our nation's incredible republican
political system, the USI College Republicans saw genuine, positive
change in the regularly scheduled election held on Thursday, November
13, 2008. The election yielded a number of new officers who have
already said they will energize the
organization over the next year. Here were the Executive
Board officers elected:
Tony Howard, Executive Chairman
Zac Kiefer, Internal Vice-Chairman
Celika Christine, External Vice-Chairman
Matt Hannon, Treasurer
Bridget Clement, Secretary
Brandon Greene, Executive Director
We would like to thank our dedicated advisor, Profesor Glen J. Kissel,
for doing a terrific job performing the Oath of Office for our new
Executive Chairman, Tony Howard, who in turn swore in the remaining
Executive Board officers. Tony could be found saying "The election
tonight of the new Executive Board officers is a great beacon of
conservativism to not only the campus and administration of USI,
but also to the White House."
The Sole Vice Presidential Debate
Substantial, Substantative Slips by Biden
Saturday, October 4, 2008
With
nearly 70,000,000 Americans tuning in to watch the first and only
Vice Presidential Debate on Thursday, many people have now said
that Governor Sarah Palin (R) figuratively destroyed Senator Joe
Biden (D) in the debate.
The reports are that Biden was either factually incompetent or
knowingly lied 14 times during the debate.
Palin had to correct Biden frequently during the debate. Overall,
she pointed out that government is not the answer to the problems
that Biden thought it was, as she stated government is "too
often...the problem".
"We don't call it redistribution in my neighborhood...we call
that fairness" Biden stated at one point. It doesn't matter
what you call it, Mr. Biden, that's exactly what it is. When you
"rob Peter to pay Paul", you are centrally redistributing
and taking money against the will of Peter -- you are, many would
say, "stealing" his earnings and giving them to someone
else who never worked for them. This is a travesty to all "working"
people and a travesty to consider this American in
any manner (these are the ways
of socialist Europe and communist China).
In essense, this is nothing short of government sponsored theft
and these are the premier elements and proposals of the Obama-Biden
ticket and the "change" that they want to force on the
American people.
There is a curiosity that continues to be the "gift that keeps
on giving" for Governor Sarah Palin and the McCain campaign.
A decision that most recognize as a wonderfully intelligent political
move, McCain's campaign continues to reap the benefit of having
a solid conservative reformer as part of the Presidential team.
The elitist liberals in the media conveniently neglect Obama's weining
crowds that instead gather in support of Governor Palin (some report
crowds of 60,000 at events).
Soon we will know whether this strategy was enough to win the Presidency
of the United States.
Presidential Election Nears...
McCain or Obama -- Many Still Wondering
How They Will Vote
Saturday, October 4, 2008
As
many still remain undecided on the 2008 Presidential Election, the
candidates continue to give reasons why to vote for them and against
them.
The most important consideration is how will the candidates will
uphold the government document for our nation that "We the
People" require them to abide by: The Constitution. In fact,
in the under 40 words that a President must be sworn in on, that
is the #1 concern.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that
I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United
States; and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect
and defend, the Constitution of the United States." -- U.S.
Presidential Oath of Office
So, how
do the candidates match up to the Constitution in deed and word?
Let's find out.
Obama has a truly limited record, but what we do know is that he
is one of the most liberal senators in the U.S. Senate. His rating,
according to the American Conservative Union (ACU) is 8%. This record
cannot be very consistent with our Constitution, when it certainly
does not authorize unlimited programs and spending measures. Voting
at a whim for any liberal measure that has passed before him in
the U.S. Senate is one of Obama's major problems. Obama also wants
to expand healthcare, education, science and technology, rebuild
infrastructure, and more. None of these areas match up with the
Enumerated Clauses within the U.S. Constitution under Article I,
Section 8. So, the "change" that Obama wants really seems
to be disasterous change. Thomas Jefferson thought that our federal
government was too large in the early 1800s. The federal government
was probably 1/100 what it is now and Barack Obama wants to increase
its size by another 50% or more. His agenda is so out of touch with
the Founding Fathers, its actually likely it could be one of the
most destructive plans a Presidential Candidate has ever proposed.
Obama is really a terrible option for President of the United
States. His plans and ideals directly contradict the very American
nature of our governing institutions and documents.
McCain has a more extensive governing record, on the other hand,
and his conservative rating at the ACU, for example, is much higher:
82.3%. On some of the more recent issues, McCain has fallen short
for many conservatives, such as: illegal immigration, taxes, campaign
finance reform, and the environment. His most directly unconsitutional
action is fairly recent in memory. On the tax issue, he has gotten
better in the lead up to the end of this campaign, as he admitted
he was wrong to be against the tax cuts President Bush passed. But,
the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform bill that passed a few
years ago directly violated the First Amendment of the United States
Constitution by saying that groups could not use the name of incumbent
government officials in advertisements 30 days outside of a Primary
Election and 60 days outside of a General Election. This was the
very purpose of the Bill of Rights, to be able to openly question
our governing officials anytime, especially before an election!
McCain clearly has problems when it comes to the Constitution,
but it does not rise to an "Obama-nibal" level. If
partisan gridlock (differing parties) exists between the President
and Congress starting in January 2009 (since conventional wisdom
is that the Democrats may retain the House and Senate), it's very
possible that not much would be able to be accomplished, limiting
the Constitution-violating record of recent Congress' (especially
in light of this 700 billion dollar bailout).
So, what
are we voters to do?
Do you "hold your nose" and vote as a Republican, as Senator
McCain's own mother recommended? This is, of course, up to each
voter. It comes back to the age old debate of whether you must look
at the two options and choose the "lesser of two evils"
(to simply use a phrase).
Whichever way you look at it, one thing is certain. Barack Obama
poses an incredible risk to this nation, our Constitution, and is
likely to make us a more socialist nation than Europe, if his cult-like
following penetrates the Congress in 2009. Letting this happen could
be disasterous to those who already do not like high percentages
of their incomes being "taken" at work, to those who want
to preserve the freedom to make their healthcare choices, and for
those who hold high the liberties of life, liberty, and the pursuit
of happiness, for which Obama will violate wildly if elected.
